Walking around the Middle Age Museum in the EUR District of Rome, You would not expect to find such a treasure which is worth the trip to Italy: the reconstruction with authentic marbles of the aristocratic house (Domus) by the Porta Marina in Ostia. This fantastic discovery was made back in 1959, during the local road building work, and the preservation is due to the fall of the hall ceiling, in the ancient times, which has hidden the decorations for our joy. The Domus dates back to the 4th century AD and shows colourful marbles coming from all over the Mediterrenean, even with a male figure which could be a philosopher or even Jesus.
